FAQs

Q: What are your candles made of?

A: All of my candles are made of soy wax and virgin coconut soy wax.

Q: Do your candles contain Beeswax?

A: None of my candles contain Beeswax. My candles are made with soy wax and virgin coconut soy wax.

Q: How do you light a wooden wick?

A: The trick is to tilt the candle slightly and to light the wick all the way across. In order to ensure you get a proper burn every time, trim any burnt pieces of wick with your fingers or scissors before re-lighting.

Q: How long can I burn my candle?

A: Amandine's candles are made with high quality soy wax and virgin coconut soy wax. These types of candles may be burned safely for 3-4 hours at a time. Always be sure to allow the wax pool to reach the edges of the vessel to allow for an even burn.

Q: Do you accept special requests and orders?

A: I love taking on new challenges and special projects! Please fill out the contact form at the bottom of the site to specify your request, and you'll be contacted with additional details.

Q: What is Uranium glass and is it dangerous?

A: Think about your Granny's old display cabinet, and you'll probably remember seeing one or two (or many) green glass pieces in her collection. Uranium oxide was used in early production of glassware to give it that light green color. Uranium glass reacts under a UV light and will set off a Geiger counter, but the uranium content is so miniscule, you would be exposed to higher levels of radiation by eating a banana! It's radioactive, but the reaction is contained within the glass.

Would I use it for food and drinks? Probably not, but I do have a growing Uranium glass collection on display!

Q: Can the candles be burned with the adornments on them?

A: Yes! The candles are safe to burn with the crystals on top, as well as the various adornments. After use, the stones may be washed gently under warm water to remove the wax residue, if you want to keep them in your crystal collection. The dried flowers, sage and cedar may be burned for an added layer of fragrance.
